This Saturday, June 10, 2017 (11:45 AM Pacific) Montenegro will host Armenia at the Podgorica City Stadium in a UEFA World Cup qualifier match. Both teams are in Group E, which has proven to be one of the most contested groups in the competition.
Montenegro is currently second in Group E with seven points but is far from comfortable with only a point separating the team from the fifth-place team. The Slavic side is in pessimistic form coming off two losses in the qualifiers, this includes a 3-2 loss to Armenia and a tough 2-1 defeat to Poland. Arguably the two most talented players on Montenegro’s squad militate in La Liga in Atletico Madrid’s, Stefan Savic and Sevilla’s, Stevan Jovetic. The match should be an interesting one with no clear winner but Montenegro should have the edge with the home-field advantage.
Armenia is currently in fifth in Group C of this qualifying stage but is only a point behind Montenegro in second. Unlike, Montenegro, Armenia is coming into the game in tremendous form with two consecutive victories coming against Montenegro and Kazakhstan. Armenia does have lesser known players on its squad but counts with a very talented star in Manchester United’s, Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The match should be an intense duel with both nations eager to get the three points from the game.
