Everton and Leicester reportedly battle to sign young striker who scored 27 goals last season

According to reports, Everton and Leicester City are two clubs that are keeping tabs on Coventry City goal scoring sensation Jordan Ponticelli.

Ponticelli scored 27 goals this past season to help the Coventry under-18 side win the Professional Development League.  The 18-year-old has however yet to make his debut for the Sky Blues first team and has admitted that this has disappointed him.

Given that Everton manager Ronald Koeman has developed a reputation of transforming young talent into stars as he has done with the likes of Tom Davies and Ademola Lookman, a move to Goodison Park could be appealing to Ponticelli.

The Merseyside club are also reported to have monitored Ponticelli on more than several occasions this pasts season and it could suggest that there is a good chance that the will sign him. Leicester City are also interested in signing the youngster.
