Andreas Weimann has bid farewell to Wolverhampton Wanderers according to reports. Wolves had reportedly been planning to pay Derby £1.5 million to recruit Weimann on a permanent basis, however it now looks like the deal has been scrapped.
The 25-year-old Weimann took to social media site Twitter to express his gratitude towards Wolves and said, “Thanks to all players, staff and fans @Wolves for making me feel so welcome over the last 5 months – all the best for next season #wwfc”
During his time at the club, Weimann made 21 appearances scoring three goals. His most memorable moment at the club probably came when he scored the winner during an upset FA Cup win against Liverpool at Anfield.
Former Wolves coach Paul Lambert had been looking to recruit Weimann on a permanent basis, however since his departure, the club have changed their stance and the Austrian will now leave the club.
