Henri Lansbury has called own his Aston Villa team-mates to have a special season next term.
The 26-year-old Lansbury joined the Villians from Nottingham Forest for a reported fee of £3 million during the January transfer window and has since gone on to establish himself as a reliable performer for the club for whom he made 16 appearances in the Championship during the second half of the season.
Lansbury said of his teams aim ahead of next season, “We want a special season, absolutely no question. Fans of the club will certainly be hoping that this means challenging for promotion.”
At the beginning of the past season, many Villa fans would have expected the club to challenge for straight promotion back to the Premiership following relegation during the 2015-16 season.
However, it was not to be and the club endured a rather disappointing Championship season finishing in 13th position on the standings.
