Arsenal reportedly planning a shock move for Championship star

According to reports, Premier League big-boys Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Helder Costa.

The 23-year-old Costa is Wolves record signing having joined from Portuguese club Benfica last summer in a deal worth £13 million.

Costa scored 12 goals last season and there is no doubt that new Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo will want him in his plans for next season.

However, the lure of joining a Premier League heavyweight may be too tempting for Costa and therefore from a neutral perspective one can say that he will likely leave should either Chelsea or Arsenal step up their interest.

Wolves managing director Laurie Darylmple recently said of the situation surrounding Costa, “I can’t sit here and definitely say he’s going absolutely nowhere because I don’t know what’s around the corner in four week’s time. We’re a football club in the Championship.

“We haven’t been in the Premier League for five seasons and we have very different financial pressures from a lot of other clubs in this league.”
