According to reports, Aston Villa are aiming to beat Premier League clubs in the race to sign France under-19 youngster Abdoulaye Sissako. Villa are reported to have sent scouts to watch the youngster in action during the Toulon tournament last week.
Since breaking into the Auxerre first team last year, Sissako has gone on to make five appearances and is a regular in the France under-19 team.
Though he has two years remaining on his current contract with the French Ligue 2 side, Villa are said to be confident that they can secure a deal for the youngster ahead of next season.
Should Sissako move to a Premier League club, he will be very unlikely to gain first team football and therefore a move to the Villians may be appealing.
Considering that Villa are a side whom many predict can challenge for Premier League promotion next season, Sissako could well decide to take the leap.
