Everton have been dealt a blow in their aims to sign Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker.
The Toffees recently had a £15 million bid turned down for the youngster and it now turns out they would have even had a bid of twice the amount declined.
Chief Executive of Anderlecht Herman Van Holsbeeck revealed that his club wants to keep of Dendoncker for at least one more season by saying, “We do not set a price for Leander, but obviously we want to keep him for another year, as we did with [Youri] Tielemans last season. Which is in proportion to this sum, we will talk about it with his entourage in the days to come.”
Dendocker made 53 appearances for his club last season, helping them to the semi-finals of the Europa League where they were eliminated by Manchester United as well as to the Belgian League title.
He is currently contracted to Anderlecht until 2020 which means that the club will pocket a huge fee when they do decide to sell.
