Newcastle United reportedly still waiting to hear back from top target

According to reports, Newcastle United are still waiting to hear from Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham over a possible loan move to the Magpies ahead of next season.

The Magpies will likely hear from the youngster soon, though Brighton and Hove Albion are also said to keen on luring him.

The 19-year-old Abraham impressed in the Championship this past season by notching 19 goals from 41 appearances, which also included four assists.

However he is arguably not as yet ready to play for the Chelsea first team, Newcastle have reportedly assured the Premier League Champions that the youngster will be given regular first team opportunities should he join them. Rafa Benitez’s team are also said to be willing the players £25,000 weekly wages in full.

Brighton, who can also offer Abraham regular first team time, are based in Surrey though and a move to them would make sense for the England under-21 star, given that he is based in the same city.
