According to reports, Sheffield Wednesday could be set to rekindle their interest in Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane.
The Owls previously attempted to sign Hourihane during the January transfer window from Barnsley before the player completed a move to Villa Park.
Owls boss Carlos Carvahal is reportedly keen on trying to lure Hourihane again this summer with a big money offer.
However given the fact that the Republic of Ireland international Hourihane has only completed five months of his three year deal with Villa, it is unlikely that the club will be willing to sell at this stage.
All in all for Barnsley and Villa combined, Hourihane made 45 appearances in all competitions this past season, scoring several goals and contributing 16 assists.
It is likely that he will form a part of Steve Bruce’s plans for next season as Villa aim to push for promotion to the Premier League.
