According to reports, Algerian star Ryad Boudebouz is set to move to Newcastle United.
Algerian source Le Buteur claim in a report that the Magpies are leading the race to sign the Montpellier playmaker with Southampton, Everton and Lyon also rumored to be interested.
The report added that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez met with representatives of the 27-year-old Boudebouz this week and that the outcome of the talks were positive.
Newcastle are said to have been monitoring the progress of Boudebouz for a long time after having first become linked with his signature in 2014. The attacker notched 11 goals this season for Montpellier and recorded nine assists.
At this stage of his career, Boudebouz may feel that the time is right to ply his trade in the Premiership. He certainly as a lot of experience under his belt and could be a good addition to the Magpies squad ahead of their Premier League return.
