According to reports from Italian source Sky Sport 24, Italian club Roma have made contact with the representatives of Ajax Amsterdam captain and Everton target Davy Klaasen.
The report added that the Roma’s new director Monchi is targeting Klaasen as the club sets about doing a summer revamp of their squad.
Sassuolo boss Eusebio Di Francesco is set to become the new manager of Roma next season and reportedly wants Klaasen at the Stadio Olympico.
Klaasen is widely expected to leave Ajax this summer as he looks to play for a club in one of the elite clubs of World football.
Ronald Koeman is said to be a big fan of Klaasen who has been valued at £25 million. The Everton boss may still use his contacts within the Netherlands to swing the transfer in his favor. In the end it may come down to whether Klaasen prefers a move to the Serie A or Premier League.
