Pablo Zabaleta has revealed that he joined West Ham as he feels that it is the right club for him. The veteran defender was released by Manchester City after a successful tenure and joins the Hammers on a two year deal.
West Ham have lacked in defensive quality during this past season and there is no doubt that the 32-year-old Zabaleta will be a key part of Slaven Bilic’s plans for next season.
The Argentina international said of his move to the London Stadium, “There was also interest from some English clubs but West Ham was the first choice for me.
“I knew from the start that this was the right place for me and I really want to thank co-chairman David Sullivan helping to make this move happen.”
The signing of Zabaleta is the first of many arrivals that will happen at West Ham this summer as the club will be working hard to improve their roster after what has been a disappointing season.
