Newcastle star delighted to return to former club

Deandre Yedlin

Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin has returned to his former club Seattle Sounders for training purposes.

Yedlin started his career with the Sounders before moving to Tottenham in 2014, following impressive performances in the World Cup for the United States national team during that year.

Yedlin played a big role in helping Newcastle win promotion to the Premier League this season and there is no doubt that he will be required to play regularly for the Magpies next year.

He has returned to Seattle Sounders in order to retain fitness ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers for the United States next month and when asked about how he feels to have returned to his former club, the 23-year-old responded saying, “It’s great. It’s nice to see old faces and some new ones as well.

“The team has changed a little bit since I was here, so it was nice to meet those guys as well.”
