Yaya Toure has yet to be offered a new contract with Manchester City according to his agent, Dimitri Seluk.
The Ivorian international’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether he will remain at the club. Seluk however did confirm that the 34-year-old will likely accept a new deal should he be offered one.
“There are clubs who have already qualified for next season’s Champions League, but for Yaya, Manchester City is a very special club. He has given his heart to the club and he would find it difficult to leave City”, said Seluk.
Given the role that Toure has played for City for the past several years, the club should offer him a new deal, especially considering that he can still compete at the highest level.
Should they opt to, he will not be short of offers as West Ham and Newcastle are two clubs who are interested in signing the former African Player of the Year.
