Everton Youngster Fails to Land Deal

Conor Grant will be returning to Everton, after talks over a permanent move to Doncaster Rovers failed to materialize.  The 22 year old had been on loan with the newly promoted League 1 side since January and it was rumored that they were considering signing him on a permanent basis.

However, it is now certain that Grant will not be remaining at Doncaster beyond this season, with the club writing on its official website, “Conor Grant has returned to parent club Everton after his loan expired, and Rovers will not pursue a permanent move at this time.”

From 21 appearances for The Rovers, Grant scored one goal. It is unlikely that the former England under 18 international will form part of Everton’s first team plans next season. The club will likely be looking to offload him during the summer. He will also need to choose a club where he can get regular first team action, specially considering that he is now 22.
