Celtic defender Efe Ambrose stated that he could leave the club at the end of the season. The Nigeria international appears not to be part of manager Brendan Rodgers’ future plans and was sent out on loan to Hibernian earlier this season.

The 28 year old indicated that could stay at Hibernian beyond this season, saying, “Of course I would consider staying with Hibs because the fans showed me love and I enjoy working for the manager who signed me for Celtic and then brought me to Hibs – so if it comes my way again then it will be hard to turn it down”.

With Dedryck Boyata, Erik Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic all competing for places in the Bhoy’s defence, it is very hard to see Ambrose coming back to the club.

During his five years at Celtic thus far, he has amassed 168 appearances.
