Goalkeeper rejects a chance to join Leeds United

According to reports, David Stockdale will reject interest from Leeds United in order to remain at Brighton and Hove Albion.

The 31-year-old’s current contract with Albion is set to expire at the end of the season, which attracted interest from Leeds as well as West Ham United.

However after Stockdale has played a big role in helping the Seagulls win promotion this season to the Premier League for the first time, keeping 20 clean sheets from 43 matches, and he has been rewarded with a new two year contract extension.

There is no doubt that Stockdale will be a key part of the Seagulls Premier League ambitions next season. Leeds were looking to recruit him in order to provide competition to veteran Rob Green.

West Ham had been interested in order to identify a new first choice after both Adrian and Darren Randolph have convinced that they are long-term regular first choice keepers for the club.
