West Ham have suffered a blow in their transfer plans after Fleetwood Town reported via Twitter that their goalkeeper Alex Cairns has signed a new deal with the club.
With Darren Randolph and Adrian failing to convince that they can be permanent first choice goalkeepers for the Hammers this season, Cairns reportedly attracted the interest of the East London club after a series of impressive performances for the League 1 outfit.
However in light of the speculation, the 24-year -ld has reportedly agreed a new deal with Fleetwood which is said to be one which is long-term.
West Ham certainly do have the funds available to make a transfer happen still, though they may now opt against it as it may require a very high fee in the context of the situation.
It is also hard to see Cairns getting first team opportunities should he switch. He probably realizes this, hence why he signed a new deal with the League One club.
