Sunderland manager David Moyes has revealed that he has no issue with supporters of the club venting out their frustrations at him. Fans of the Black Cats could be heard uttering out “We want Moyes out” during the team’s 2-2 draw with West Ham on Saturday.
The Scot said, “The supporters have been fantastic. When managers and teams aren’t doing well, they deserve to take frustrations out on somebody. It’s nearly always the manager – and I have no issue with that.”
Although the draw during the weekend ended a run of three successive defeats for the Wearside Club, they are nine points adrift of safety with six games remaining and are likely to be relegated.
Despite the frustrations of many Sunderland fans, Moyes will likely remain manager of the club next season even if they are relegated. Club owner Ellis Short previously indicated that the board still feels that the former Everton and Manchester United boss is the right man to take the club forward.
