West Ham United attacker hopeful of earning a start soon

West Ham striker Jonathan Calleri is hoping to be handed a first Premier League start by manager Slaven Bilic.

The 23-year-old has struggled to establish himself within the Hammers first team and has made just 11 League appearances, all of which came from the bench.

However he did a fine job when brought on to replace Michail Antonio during the Hammer win over Swansea during the weekend and will be hopeful that his exploits will convince Bilic to hand him a start.

Calleri said: “As a player, I always try to do my best in order to play all the games, but it is a manager´s decision to pick the team. Saturday could be a chance for me to start the game and, if I do, I will try to do my best to be the manager´s first choice to play.”

Bilic’s side have the perfect opportunity to record back to back victories during the weekend as they take on last placed Sunderland.
