Despite West Ham gaining a much needed 1-0 win over Swansea on Saturday, the club suffered a double blow as a result of Michail Antonio’s injury and captain Mark Noble’s ban.
Antonio, who last month had to withdraw from the England national team due to injury, suffered a hamstring blow against the Swans and could not complete the full 90 minutes. He had to be replaced by Jonathan Calleri.
Captain Noble, who was making his 400th appearance of his Hammers career, suffered his 10th yellow card of the season and this means that he will not play a part in West Ham’s two upcoming League matches against Sunderland and Everton.
The win will definitely ease the pressure on under-fire manager Slaven Bilic after the club suffered five consecutive defeats following their win. The club will certainly hope that Antonio can return to action as soon as possible seeing as he is one of their most influential players.
