West Ham battle Tottenham to sign prolific striker; available for £17million

According to reports from Turkey, West Ham will battle Tottenham to sign forward Cenk Tosun.

The 25-year-old bagged a brace last Friday to lead his native Turkey to a 2-0 win over Finland in the World Cup qualifiers and has reportedly been watched by Spurs scouts throughout the season.

West Ham have also become interested and manager Slaven Bilic will know the Turkey international, having worked with him whilst serving as manager of Besiktas where Tosun currently plays.

The striker is set to cost in the region of £17 million and will not require a work permit to play in England as he has EU citizenship.

It is likely that Tosun will leave Turkey. He will be looking to challenge himself by playing for a team in a more competitive League.

Though a move to Spurs, may be appealing, it remains to be seen whether they will be offer him regular first team action, hence if the Hammers offer a good deal, they may remain in contention.
