The international break is coming to a close, fortunately, for those of us that are concerned with clubs at the moment. This break hasn’t been welcomed, but maybe someone will come back in form, or not injured, right? Here’s how Liverpool’s senior stars played in their matches over Sunday and Monday.
Sunday
Azerbaijan 1-4 Germany: Emre Can made the bench for the Germans, but he failed to feature in this one as they rolled to another emphatic qualifying win.
England 2-0 Lithuania: Adam Lallana started for the Three Lions and provided an assist on their second goal, scored by Jamie Vardy. He did pick up an injury, however, and will be out for a month. Nathaniel Clyne was an unused substitute.
Monday
Ivory Coast 1-1 Senegal: Sadio Mane scored a penalty for the Senegalese in France, but the match had be abandoned due to what amounted to basically a riot. Thankfully, the players all seem to be fine physically.
