Liverpool linked with bizarre £13million move

There’s no secret that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side needs some sort of help in the back. Or a change in strategy even. But none of that has stopped the media from continually linking players. Today’s no different as they’ve been linked with Torino right back Davide Zappacosta, according to Transfermarketweb.

Zappacosta, a 24 year old that’s also been rumored to be headed toward Napoli and Roma, is said to be available £13m. This is said to be in an apparent attempt to bolster the depth of the squad.

This move sounds very strange when you think about it. Liverpool have a well-established right back in Nathaniel Clyne. And they also have a great up and coming right back in Trent Alexander-Arnold as well. Why would they essentially waste money here for a player that won’t play much?

Davide Zappacosta is going to do great things, no doubt, but he’d be wasting his time at Anfield right now. Someone would eventually have to go, and it’s unlikely the England man Clyne would be forced out. It’d be very foolish to turn their backs on Alexander-Arnold as well at this juncture. So, the best idea is to just keep Zappacosta away from Anfield for now.
