Newcastle United midfielder Haris Vuckic is reportedly training with FC Twente in a bid to win a contract with the Dutch Eredivisie club.
The Slovenian internationals contract will expire during the summer and it is widely expected that he will be released from the club as he is seemingly not part of Rafa Benitez’s plans.
Vuckic arrived at the Magpies as a 17 year old in 2009 from Domzale and was expected to be a star of the future; however he failed to establish himself within the first team of the club.
He had loan spells with five different clubs during his time at St James Park, notably with Cardiff City, Rangers and Wigan Athletic.
A new club is exactly what Vuckic needs to revitalize his career. He failed to settle at Newcastle and should he win a contract with Twente, who were previously managed by Steve McLaren, he may regain confidence and playing time.
