West Ham star says he is still settling in to English football

West Ham midfielder Sofiane Feghouli has said that he is gradually adapting to the Premier League after having to experience a radical change in the style of play once arriving in the English top flight.

The 27-year-old arrived at the Hammers during the summer after a six year spell with Spanish La Liga outfit Valencia. He suffered a hamstring injury in August which made him unavailable for six weeks and once fit again, he struggled to break into Slaven Bilic’s first team.

However since January and March, the Algerian has played eight games, scoring two goals. He has proven to be one of the bright sparks in a sluggish West Ham team who have struggled to build upon their impressive form last season.

“It’s been a radical change in footballing terms,” Feghouli told the club’s website. “In Spain, the game is more about possession, technique and strategy, whereas football here is more direct.

“It’s a big change, but as I said, I’m happy with my statistics so far two goals and three assists in not many games. I’m gradually settling in.”
