Leeds United star Pontus Jansson makes major admission about his future

Pontus Jansson has revealed to Swedish News outlet Sydsvenskan that he is not paying attention to transfer speculation linking him with a move away from Elland Road.

The 26-year-old has established himself as a key member of the Whites, helping them launch a push to be promoted to the Premier League.

He said as per Sydsvenskan, “They do that for sure, but it would be foolish to think of it now that I’m at Leeds, a huge football club that has not been in the Premier League for a long time.

“It would be foolish to focus on something else. I had a good season and we take it as it comes, but right now my full focus is on Leeds.”

Since arriving at the Championship club from Torino during the summer, the Swedish international has made 28 appearances for the club. In addition to providing resolute defending, he has also proven that he can also attack, having bagged three goals as well as one assist.

There have been rumors linking Premier League outfit Southampton with the signature of Jansson. If Gary Monk’s side fail to secure promotion, a move to a Premier League side may still be tempting.
