When manager Jurgen Klopp came into Liverpool Football Club in October of 2015, many felt that youth would become much more of a priority. However, a lot of that hasn’t panned out as of yet as the Reds have only seen Ben Woodburn progress very much.
Besides FA Cup and EFL Cup action, the younger players really haven’t had much of a chance to show their worth. This has been the case for Adam Phillips, and it’s being said that he could be on the way out soon.
According to ESPN FC Sources, the 19 year old, whose contract is out this summer, might just be on his way out as a number of Premier League clubs are said to be interested.
Phillips has still failed to make his debut for the Reds, and it’s looking increasingly likely that he never will as they are too focused on success right now to worry with development at the moment.
Phillips and others not getting a chance is a little worrying, but you have to wonder if they just aren’t up to par at this point. If they had that much to offer, they’d surely have gotten an opportunity at some point.
