Sunderland reportedly eyeing a shock move for Besiktas man

According to reports, Sunderland are interested in luring Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan. However whether he will eventually join may be dependent on which division the Black Cats play in next season.

The 26-year-old has played an important role for Kara Kartallar this season, helping them to first position on the League standings.

Arslan boasts an impressive pass completion rate of 91% and has also won 57% of duels this season. He may add in quality to the Sunderland midfield which has been lacking quality play this season.

The midfielder has less than 18 months left on his current deal and it is likely that he will be sold during the summer.

The Turk will be tempted to move to a more competitive league and due to his form; many clubs are likely to inquire about him. He is likely to be sold for a modest price, which the Black Cats may be able to afford.
