West Ham reportedly set to make major signing from Manchester City

The Sun have reported that veteran Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna is keen on moving to West Ham next season.

The 34-year-old is likely to become a free agent at the end of the season with Pep Guardiola seemingly not likely to renew his contract which expires at the end of the season.

In addition to adding experience to the Hammers squad, Sagna could also help the team’s defensive frailties at right back.

Sagna who is currently on a £60,000 a week deal is likely to have to take a pay-cut if he switches to the London Stadium, however it will allow him to continue playing at the highest level and the former Arsenal defender is reportedly keen on moving back to London.

The France international spent seven years at Arsenal before transferring to Manchester City in 2014 on a free transfer. This deal is one which has a very good possibility of taking place and may be mutually beneficial for both parties.
