Roofe explains reason behind Leeds United’s lethargic performance against Fulham

Leeds United’s attacking midfielder Kemar Roofe has admitted that he found it difficult to last the full 90 minutes during his team’s 1-1 draw against Fulham on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was handed only his second start in the past several matches and admitted that he had difficulties though he had no problems about playing through pain.

“It was difficult for everybody. A few of us haven’t had that many games, so it’s hard to last the 90 minutes,” Roofe admitted. “But you’ve got to do the job and just dig in.”

Leeds were perhaps lucky to gain a draw from the game after Fulham defender Tim Ream gifted them an opener through his own goal. Their fatigue as well as the absence of in-form striker Chris Wood was perhaps what hampered their play on the day.

However they did leave Craven Cottage with a valuable point and continue to have a stronghold on the promotion playoff positions.
