James Beattie has said that he has finally forgiven Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi for the tackle that the Swiss international committed on him during his debut for the Peacocks.
The tackle occurred whilst Beattie was playing for Accrington Stanley and he says that at the time he had thought that it was a terrible one.
He wrote on Twitter about the challenge, “I remember it well and thinking at the time, it was an interesting tackle. Knowing Bera now, as I do, he is a warrior I forgive him.”

However Beattie who is now a first team coach with Leeds understands that aggression is a key part of the defender’s game.
Berardi has been in impressive form over recent weeks since being required to cover for Charlie Taylor at left back so much so that he kept his place for the Peacocks win against Birmingham City despite Taylor being passed fit again.
