Liverpool will try to prove their mettle this weekend against a tough ‘small’ side in Burnley at Anfield. The Reds lost in the first meeting this season, at fortress Turf Moor, and will be looking to turn around their form against the league’s lesser lights.
However, they are likely to be without England international stars Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge as the Clarets come to Anfield. Both men have once again missed out on training. Henderson because of his permanent foot injury, and Sturridge due to a hip injury this time.
Liverpool looked good in victory last weekend at home to Arsenal, but they will face a potent counterattacking test this week against Burnley. Not having Jordan Henderson could hurt them as Emre Can has much less pace in the middle of the park.
As for Sturridge, it doesn’t look likely he’d be used as anything more than a sub anyway, so he won’t be missed very much by manager Jurgen Klopp for this one.
