Everton and West Ham reportedly battle to sign 30-year-old international

Foot Sur 7 has reported that Everton and West Ham are eyeing a potential move for French goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman brought in experienced Dutchmen Maarten Stekelenburg to his side last summer, however he has largely been unimpressive and lost the first choice position to Joel Robles, who has also not convinced that he is a long term first choice solution.

It has also been reported that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is eyeing a new goalkeeper next season after being unimpressed by the performances of Adrian and Darren Randolph.

Ruffier may be a good prospect for both clubs. He is vastly experienced having played consecutive appearances in Ligue 1 from 2011 to 2016.

Foot Sur 7 have also added that Everton and West Ham have sent scouts to monitor Ruffier’s performances while Liverpool are also considering entering the race for the signature of the 30-year-old.

Like the Hammers and Toffees, the Reds have also switched goalkeepers between Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet in goal this season.
