Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that Everton boss Ronald Koeman has solved the team’s defensive problems.
“Everton were still having problems defensively at the start of the season, as they have for a few seasons, but now they look more solid, and that’s down to the manager,” Carragher said.
The Toffees’ defensive problems were very much exposed whilst Roberto Martinez was in charge and ultimately led to him being sacked.
As soon as Koeman took over the reins, the defensive problems were still there with the club gifting goal scoring opportunities to opposition teams.
The Merseyside club have not lost a game in the Premiership in 2017. They sailed to a 2-0 win over Sunderland during the weekend with the defense not being threatened by former manager David Moyes’ side.
They now face fellow high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this weekend, in what will be a real test for both sides.
