The win would be huge for the ‘guerreros’ as it would catapult them to first place in group 3 past America, due to goal differential. Jose Manuel de la Torre’s side is undefeated in the Liga MX campaign after 8 matches, but has not been that fortunate in the Copa MX. Santos has one lone win in the competition coming in week 5 against Coras FC by a massive score line of 5-0. Before that game, Santos fell to both America and Coras in the competition.

Silvio Romero has been an important player for the Mexico City side in this tournament, getting three goals, but it is unclear if he will start in this game.

Club America will need to count with some of its best players to show up in this match to cement their place in the playoffs.
