Nigeria international Efe Ambrose has returned to Scottish giants Celtic after his move to English Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers fell through, as reported by Super Sport.
The 28-year-old had hoped to join Rovers in January but the deal did not take place due to work permit difficulties. Following the collapsed move, Ambrose says that he will continue working and training hard to try to return to the Celtic team.
The Nigerian said: “It’s difficult as a player you want to play, but as you know football has its ups and downs you have good days and bad days. For me I keep working hard and training hard, I enjoy every moment I spend on the training field.”
Blackburn Rovers coach Tony Mowbray has admitted that a deal for Ambrose is unlikely to happen this year, by saying, “The club has worked very hard behind the scenes to try and make it happen, but it’s not going to be happening.”
Ambrose will see out the rest of the season with the Scottish giants and it remains to be seen what will happen during the summer.
