Newcastle defender DeAndre Yedlin took to Twitter to thank the clubs fans for their support during the club’s 2-2 draw with Bristol City on Saturday.
The American international tweeted, “Big thanks to all the @nufc fans..created a great atmosphere and really helped push us along.. big week ahead onto the next game”
The Magpies shockingly trailed the struggling side 2-0 before showing a lot of character to fight back and claim a draw. That said, Newcastle will be disappointed with their performance, knowing that this was a good opportunity to claim a win.
Rafael Benitez’s men gained their first goal through a Korey Smith own goal before Ciaran Clark scored a header to equalize.
The draw saw Newcastle lose their position at the top of the Championship standings to Brighton and Hove Albion whom they play next on Tuesday evening.
The Magpies will definitely be hoping to win the Championship and thus they will aim to win the game against Albion, not only to gain three points but also to gain a psychological advantage over their fellow title contenders.
