Though Newcastle did not manage to sign Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace on loan in January, they have a good chance of signing him during the summer according to HITC.
The Magpies were trying to bring in Townsend on loan last month with a view to making the deal permanent at the end of the season, however Crystal Palace were reportedly only interested in a permanent sale.
Benitez has made it no secret that signing Townsend is a priority for him and unless something drastic happens to Crystal Palace, he may have a good chance during the summer.
Though Newcastle have shown signs of weakness recently, they will still remain odds on favorites to be promoted to the English Premier League next season.
Townsend has certainly proven that he is Premiership quality during his first spell at Newcastle. If Palace get relegated, his desire to rejoin Newcastle will surely also be increased.
