Scotland Boss “Worried” About Celtic Star Player

During the last week of transfers, rumors heated up stating that Celtic and Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon was set to move to English Premier League leaders Chelsea.  It was all contingent, of course, on a proposed move for their back up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth.

Begovic’s move didn’t work out, so Gordon remained put at the undefeated domestic club.  Celtic will be happy to have seen that play out, and Gordon Strachan has admitted as such as well.

The manager of the Scotland National Team said “it would have been a worry” had Gordon ultimately joined up with Chelsea.  The Scotland boss has seen a fair number of his players make moves in the past that did not work out well.

And those moves usually didn’t do the national set up very well as they struggled to get playing time at bigger clubs.  Strachan, a former Celtic boss as well, will have been happy to see the Glasgow side hold onto their experienced goalkeeper.
