Ian Ayre will be leaving the Anfield club after serving for nearly ten years.  Ayre has helped Liverpool remain afloat, as they had troubled times during his period at the club, mainly through previous ownership.  He’s been a very important part of the club, and many will not have known about him.

Ayre himself said “There is no greater professional satisfaction for me than to leave Liverpool Football Club in much improved health than when I joined in 2007.”  Ayre had been planning his departure for some time, and the Reds are currently sorting out what they are to do now that he has left.

Ayre had held three separate titles at the club, ranging from commercial director to managing director to his latest CEO title.  His move to 1860 Munich, the historic whipping post to Bayern Munich, will come with him being the general manager.

1860 described it as huge “coup,” and they will be hoping that he can help bring in some players to help them reach permanent Bundesliga status as they are currently in the second division in Germany.

Liverpool should and will be fine with Ayre leaving, but it is an important part of the club that is about to leave.  It’s truly turning into a new era at Anfield, and the fans are just hoping that all of the pieces line up and bring them a title in the next couple of seasons.
