New Crystal Palace signing Patrick Van Aanholt is excited about being a part of the club and working under Sam Allardyce again, whom he also worked under during Allardyce’s tenure with Sunderland.
The Dutchmen joined Crystal Palace for an undisclosed figure which is believed to be in the region of £14 million. Van Aanholt also reportedly felt that the time to leave Sunderland was right after spending two and a half years with the club. He was also keen to join the club after hearing that Sam Allardyce was appointed as the new manager.
Van Aanholt is certainly no stranger to featuring in relegation battles and with the Crystal Palace defence looking fragile this season, his experience and skills will be vital in helping to try and keep them in the Premier League.
The 26 year old was a product of the Chelsea youth development teams and is set to make his debut against former club Sunderland on Saturday.
