Aston Villa are eyeing a double-swoop on Premier League’s relegation-candidates Swansea City. According to the Telegraph, Villa manager Steve Bruce has launched bids for Swansea duo Neil Taylor and Modou Barrow, as he plans to further strengthen his squad in the last few days of January window.
Taylor, who has been with the Swans since 2010, has fallen behind in the pecking order under manager Paul Clement, following the £5million signing of Martin Olsson.
Bruce reportedly wants the Wales international to compete with Jordan Amavi for the left-back spot in his squad.
Barrow is also a target for Bruce, and he is prepared to use Jordan Ayew as a possible makeweight in any potential deal for the winger.
The Gambia international has provided two assists in 18 league appearances this season. He joined Swansea from Swedish second tier side Östersunds FK in 2014. Bruce has already spent around £10million in January, and the report suggests that he plans to be active in the last days of the window.
