Newcastle have reportedly made a bid to sign Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Appelt Pires. Pires has been in impressive form for Leganes and played a pivotal role in the clubs promotion to the La Liga.
Gianluca Di Marzio have reported that Newcastle want to take Pires on loan with an option to sign him permanently should they be promoted to the Premier League next season. Leganes are reportedly weighing up the option and will decide whether or not to accept in the coming days.
Pires will certainly be a good signing for Newcastle. He is just 23-years-old and will soon hit peak, he also provides what Newcastle are in need off, that being creativity in midfield.
Rafa Benitez side are doing well in the Championship and currently lie in first place. However they will look to add in reinforcements to deal with the threat of second place Brighton who are chasing first place. Pires has managed to bag 2 goals this season and is contracted to Leganes until 2019.
