Everton, Newcastle and Liverpool all have interest in signing Angers striker Nicolas Pepe, according to the L’Equipe. The 21-year-old has scored two goals this season for his side who are placed a lowly 19th in the French Ligue 1.
The Ivory Coast international was part of the Ivory Coast squad that competed at the African Cup of Nations, however their first round exit meant that he could return to France yesterday and complete a possible transfer.
It is thought that Angers are prepared to let Pepe go for around £8.5 million and transfer talks are set to begin soon. Liverpool have endured frustration during the current transfer window while Everton have managed to complete the signings of Ademola Lookman, Morgan Schneiderlin and Anton Donkor.
Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez is yet to make any signings for his team but is said to be on the lookout for reinforcements for the club who are likely to be back in the Premier League next season.
