Liverpool’s Long-Term Target Has Just Become Much More Difficult to Sign- Report

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s attempt to sign Borussia Monchengladbach central midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will be an even tougher deal now, thanks to the interest of Barcelona.

It has been long rumored that Klopp has had an interest in the 21-year-old star, and it’s also been rumored that Liverpool had a bid for him turned down back in the summer, as Klopp looked to bolster his midfield.

Barcelona have apparently taken an interest in the young playmaker now, whose contract runs out in only 18 months.  This had led to Monchengladbach’s sporting director to say that he may be forced to sell the man first.

Dahoud is most likely going to be headed to Anfield this summer.  That’s a better place for him to develop.  He can use it as a tiny stepping stone, and he may well be replacing Coutinho- who is probably headed to the Nou Camp anyway.  We’ll see how it all shakes it soon enough as the summer rolls around.
