Portland Timbers key central midfielder Darlington Nagbe, also a United States international, has spoken about a potential move to Celtic in a very positive manner, and he clearly hopes he will get another chance to join them.
Nagbe was the subject of a bid earlier in this window, but it ultimately did not pan out as he’d hoped as the Timbers and Celtic could not come to an agreement. This was after the 26-year-old had come to Celtic Park to watch a match and even train with the club.
Nagbe states that he is happy in Portland, and while it may be true, it’s just not the same as testing your talent across the sea for one of the most popular clubs in the UK.
How Nagbe would do would be interesting to watch. He’d likely fit in very well, if he can fit his way into the team. There’s a lot of competition at Celtic, so that may do him and the USA side a lot of good- if he were to move. For now, expect to see him remain in the green (of the Timbers).
