West Ham and Sunderland are reportedly interested in signing Everton skipper Phil Jagielka this month, according to Daily Mail. The 34-year-old has fallen out-of-favour under manager Ronald Koeman recently and has managed only two starts since November.
Jagielka, who has made 40 appearances for England in his illustrious career, has committed a number of high-profile errors this season and his future at the Merseyside club has been called into question.
The Dutch manager is keen to sign another young centre-back this month, or next summer, and that could push Jagielka further down the pecking order.
The Hammers have reportedly also enquired about Southampton’s Jose Fonte and Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho.
Fonte has recently submitted a transfer request and is set to leave the South Coast club this month. Meanwhile, Sakho has not featured for the Reds this season after falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer, and he could also possibly move this month.
