Matchday 3 of the Centroamericana 2017 will begin when El Salvador faces Belize this Tuesday, January 17, 2017 (1:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City. This match will be extremely battled as both sides have suffered after the two first games and need a win to escalate positions within the six-team group.
‘La Selecta’ already has faced two of the tooughest teams in the group in which they were able to obtain 1 point. With a 0-0 tie to Costa Rica and a 1-2 loss to Honduras, El Salvador will now face Belize with a great opportunity to earn 3 important points which will allow them to remain within the top-four in the group and in position for a Gold Cup CONCACAF 2017 seed.
Belize on the other hand had an incredible match against the competition’s host Panama which ended in a 0-0 tie during Matchday 1. For their second game, the team coached by Elroy Orlowski were outmatched against Costa Rica and suffered a 0-3 loss. Against El Salvador, Belize will attempt to earn at least a point which will hold them in 5th place and in a seed to advance into a wild-card playoff.
