According to the Mirror, Liverpool and Southampton will agree yet another deal. With Liverpool signing the likes of Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, and Nathaniel Clyne from the Saints in recent seasons, apparently even more dealings are set to be done.
The report states that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will be making the move for center back Jose Fonte, who handed in a transfer request about a week ago. The report also states that Mahamadou Sakho could be moving the other way.
This seemingly would be a good deal for both sides. Southampton wouldn’t have to come up with the full amount for Sakho, Sakho could finally leave Anfield, and Fonte could leave St Mary’s without further issues.
However, this just all seems a little too easy and too good to be true. Klopp isn’t likely to bring in another older defender, especially in this window. Don’t look for this one to get done.
